The River Plate team made its debut at the Monumental stadium in front of its fans during the second match of the Apertura Tournament 2025. The supporters prepared an impressive welcome to show their appreciation to the players returning to the club. The fans' subcommittee organized the celebration, which included flares, balloons, and flags to demonstrate their support for the team in this new year.
On this occasion, in addition to the fireworks, flags were placed in gratitude to the footballers who returned to River in the preseason, such as Enzo Pérez, Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Martínez Quarta, and Sebastián Driussi. The sections of San Martín and Belgrano lower were responsible for showcasing this recognition, which was complemented by the presence of Martínez Quarta, previously a two-time champion of America with the Argentine national team.
With more than 85,000 people cheering from the stands, River experienced a spectacular welcome before the match against Instituto de Córdoba in the second match of the Apertura Tournament 2025. The ends of the Sivori were decorated with strips in the club's characteristic colors, white and red, to create a festive atmosphere at the Monumental.
The fans' subcommittee called on the fans to join last Tuesday at 4 PM to help prepare the welcome, working on the decoration with plastic ribbons and balloons. Under the slogan "You will see the Gallinero dressed for the party," the fans not only paid tribute to the historic players returning to the team but also to world champions like Franco Armani, Montiel, Germán Pezzella, and Marcos Acuña.
